HEIDI RANGE’s New Year’s Eve (31Dec10) proposal from her boyfriend DAVE BERRY was far from glamorous – the TV presenter popped the question while the SUGABABES star was in her “pyjamas putting the washing on”.
The couple, dating for seven years, became engaged on 31 December (09) while at home in their London apartment.
And the singer admits she was stunned when Berry dropped to one knee – because she had no idea what he had been planning.
She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “Our flat overlooks Parliament and the London Eye and we’ve got amazing views of the fireworks on New Year’s Eve so we decided to have a relaxed evening drinking champagne as we were flying early (to India) the next day.
“I was in my pyjamas putting the washing on while watching Love Actually and at five to midnight, I went to get my slippers to go on the roof terrace (and then he proposed).” The pair will wed in October 2011 in London, and Range admits they have already started making preparations for the big day.
She adds, “I haven’t tried any (dresses on) yet but when I did a gig in Barbados with the Sugababes, Vera Wang’s daughter came up to me and said : ‘My mum was at the gig and she’d love to make you a wedding dress.’ I nearly passed out, I’ve always dreamt of a Vera Wang wedding dress!”

THEIR last single failed to dent the Top Five.
Now it looks like SUGABABES’ new album could perform even worse – it’s currently outside the Top Ten.
Sweet 7 has only made it to No 11 so far this week.
The trio’s About A Girl – the second single from the album and the first to include new bandmate JADE EWEN – peaked at No8.
Anything short of the Top Five for their new release is a disaster for a group who used to sail to the top with ease.
But there’s no chance of HEIDI RANGE, AMELLE BERRABAH and Jade making it to No1 by Sunday.
Glee – The Music’s sales of 15,000 makes the Babes’ 5,000 tally look decidedly slim.

Sugababes stars Jade Ewen and Heidi Range have admitted that they are feeling “nervous” over the release of the group’s new album.
The band’s latest offering Sweet 7 is their first disc since Ewen replaced Keisha Buchanan in the lineup last September.
Speaking to The Sun about how the album may perform in the charts, Ewen commented: “I’m slightly nervous about what the public think after so many negative comments at the beginning.
“Sometimes you think, ‘I’m s**t’ after getting one bad comment but I make jokes about it now.”
She added: “The new album will really show whether people have accepted the new Sugababes lineup. But I feel very welcome and like I’ve been here forever.”
Meanwhile, Sugababes’ longest-serving member Range said: “I’m very nervous about the new album but it’s fun. We’re on the same page, there’s a fresh energy which is good, positive and very exciting. There are lots of things we want to achieve together as a group.”
Sweet 7 will be released on March 15. The group’s new single ‘Wear My Kiss’ is out now.

Sugababes have admitted that they are yet to meet their Roc Nation label boss Jay-Z.
The ‘Wear My Kiss’ trio, who signed to Roc Nation last year, revealed that they were meant to be introduced to the rapper at the Brit Awards last week.
“We were supposed to meet him and then he won an award. We went to his table but he was still at the press round,” Jade Ewen told BBC Newsbeat.
The group said that they hope to meet Jay-Z when he performs at a string of UK festivals this summer, including Isle of Wight, Wireless and T in the Park festivals.
Bandmate Amelle Berrabah revealed that the group hope to tour the US later this year.
“If it doesn’t work out then it doesn’t work out, it’s just one of those things,” she said.
Sugababes release new album Sweet 7 on March 15.
